I entered a contest sponsored by Quilting Arts magazine in the fall of 2021. There were over 600 entries and only 10 were chosen. This wasn't one of the winners, but I learned many helpful things to enhance my creative uses with textiles.
For several years I had two homes in Tacoma, WA and Baker City, OR and I drove back and forth between them. The Blue Mountains are East of Pendleton, OR and I crossed them in all kinds of weather conditions. My favorite was late Spring when the wildflowers were blooming. I chose that for my theme. The piece is rolled up on a child's toy wooden rolling pin and can be hung on the wall or displayed on a shelf folded to show various scenes. I will be making more of these. They are wonderfully creative and bring me joy.
